Thermoanemometer FVA935-THx

The air velocity sensor is a

hot film anemometer. An elec-

trical current is increasing the

temperature of a resistor on

the substrate. The flowing air

causes a reduction of this

temperature. The cooling ef-

fect is directly proportional to

the mass flow and con-

sequently to the air velocity

and inversely proportional to

the air temperature. At equi-

librium, the temperature of the

sensor’s surface is the meas-

ure for mass flow.

The integrated temperature

sensor is used for the pur-

poses of automatic temperat-

ure compensation.
